100th Post and Poetry Contest.

If you would like to read about how you can live with just 100 things then you could click here .
If you are interested in 100 things to do before you die then you can click here .
But I think you are more interested in what I'm going to do to celebrate my 100th post.
I'm going to have a contest. Yep, I stole the idea from Leah, but who cares. I mean after all, if you win, you'll get something. I don't know what you'll get. I haven't thought that far ahead. But it will most likely be homemade. And of course, it would be gender specific. Don't you folks like surprises. So now I guess I have to come up with a contest. Damn, this is harder that I thought. Ok, you guys have to write a poem. Not just any poem mind you. It has to be a poem about the things you love about blogging. You have until Friday, September 19th to submit your poem to the comment section of this post. So put your "Cat in the Hat" thinking cap on and start rhyming.

Happy, Happy 100th Post, Cecile! Whooo hooo!!!

Here is my entry for your poetry contest:

Ode to Blogging

Oh yea, when are we going to mud wrestle? I heard you challenged me to a duel. I took my vitamins today so you'd better watchout! LOL!!!

Okay, Random Chick's the winner!!! Damn, I have to compete with that. Okay, Hiku.

Whoops, forgot the question mark.

Hi Cecile! Yay, I love a contest! But I have to think about it too. I like Suzanne's idea for a haiku.

I'm back. I decided to write a Tanka for my entry (a poetry form with 7 lines, 5-7-5-7-7 syllables). Here goes:

Tanka: Sweet Blog

Dearest Blog, you’ve let
me air deepest grievances,
share my secret Id
and reveal my double life
as Snape’s faithful Goth mistress.

Leah,
You are so funny.

Happy 100th post!!
Poetry is not my forte, but I will give it a try...glad I have till the 19th.

The comtetition looks pretty tuff!! Great writing from R.C. and Leah!!

And, just Bob isn't here yet, so look out. Great idea, Cece!!

Miss ya, been really busy working, cleaning, etc.

Gig!
I miss you too. I was just thinking about calling you sometime this week and poof here you are. I was actually thinking about you this morning on my way to work. I looked at the clock and did the calculations, and decided it was still too early to call you. I figured you were probably up at 0730, but I didn't want to take the chance. Plus, traffic was pretty crazy, so I figured it would be best to wait until I was in the comforts of my own home. I am thinking Bob might not show up, since he is in a conference in KC. But I suppose time will tell. Everyone have a wonderful Monday!!!!!!.

RC,
I followed the link and read the poem and then I posted a comment there. I didn't realize that it was actually an older post and that most likely, no one would read the wonderful rhyme that I had created. And since I am a show off, I had to repost it here. So here is my response to your poem.

This is very good.
You are in the running,
for something seriously,
awsomely stunning.
I'm not quite sure what my prize will be, but you can bet it will be made by me. Keep up the good work, I love your rhyme. I really think you are one of a kind. You are a great friend even though we haven't met. And friends for a long time we will be, I would bet.
So have a great Monday, cause Saturday and Sunday are now spent. Off into the blogosphere is where I have went.

Oh and I sort of cleaned it up a bit. Changed a few words, things always need more work when you read them several times.

Toodles.

Cece,

Just wanted ya to know, I finished my non-walk across that long ass bridge!!

At 0730, the kids that are here are getting on the bus,Amen. So, yes I would be awake, or at least semi-awake.

Well, I am off to the Onion for a nightcap with Suze, why don't you join us? Maybe Leah and R.C. will be there...ya never know what might be happening.

love ya, gig

Happy 100th.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Blogging is cool
and so are you.

I really should quit my day job and focus on a poetry career.

Cece said...

Mr.Shife, you are so funny.
You always make me laugh, even when it's not sunny.
Your poem is in the running of my contest of sorts. And a good chance at winning I must say it doth sport.

Jeanetta,
Sparkle and glitter are the spices of life!

Gig,
I was already in bed when you went to the Onion for the night cap. I'm in the middle of a 7 day stretch at work, so fatigue is really setting in. Shut eye did me some good.

I only have three entries so far folks, I know you can do better than this. Get busy. Geesh.

Suzanne said...

YES!!! I'm still working on this contest. It's hard. And I spelled Hiku wrong, as lovely Leah so eloquently pointed out. Hey. I'm just tryin' to write the damn thing. I can't be expected to spell check too. I am only one person.

Cece said...

Well, You better get that Hiku done and posted soon. Time is running out fast. I actually think you are just a procrastinator. HA. It's not like your trying to save the animal kingdom or anything.

Love ya, Suzanne.
