The Essence of Me

The Essence of Me

I’m a free spirit with a bubbly air,
But sometimes I am sad.
I am happy go lucky, and quick to smile,
But stay away from me when I’m mad.
I’m an untrusting soul,
But I’ll say hi to any stranger,
I have many fears
And try avoiding danger.
I am quick to judge,
And I make many errors,
Losing a child
Is my greatest terror.
I let you be you,
Please, let me be me.
We’re really not so different,
We’re all human beings.
And that's the essence of me.

Hey I am here!! I agree, I think this is the Essence of You!!

I especially love your free spirit with a bubbly air...but no where is it mentioned...of your beautiful singing voice...

Thanks for the "beautiful music" and conversation last night!!

Now, I will try to make my "creative brain" go work on a new post...

That is the Essence of you. Like Gig said, you forgot to mention your beautiful singing voice. I love you. You know that. And when I'm down and out, you listen. Thanks for reminding be over on Bob's blog! You're an amazing woman and I plan to keep you around FOREVER!!! I can't believe I lived the first 47 years of my life without you! That's just sorta wacky. But just be warned, I'm not going to live the remaining 47 years of my life without you. I love you to bits and know you're going through a very rough time right now, but I'm confident you'll get through it and still return your beautiful self.

I see Gig's here. Let's go sit on the Macy's sofa and watch Jorge twirl on the disco ball. Man do his balls go round, and round and round. Heeeeeeeeee hawwwwwwwwwww. We have free access to the bar cuz you let Bob off tonight. Of course I'm laughing! What shall I pour you my dear women? Bob keeps the good stuff on the top shelf. Baby, pass me your stool cuz I think I can reach that stuff with 5 extra inches.

I'm 5'9", I think I can reach it if I stand on my tip toes. Actually Suzanne, I am sort of having an extremely hard time tonight. My oldest brother called me and he never calls me. My dad is not doing well. He is have short shallow breathing with periodic gasps. He has ordered every one out of his bedroom and refuses to use his oxygen. I told them that they should do as he asks. He's ready. I just don't know when he will pass. I just hope that it is with as little suffering as possible. I'll let you know if anything happens.

Hello Cecile,
That is a very cool poem.
It is very insightful and resonates within my soul.
I wish that I could write poetry as well as you do.
Have a lovely weekend.

Honeybunch,

a beautiful poem that certainly reflects who you are, and why we all love ya!
My thoughts are with you at this awfully difficult time.

and finally....the essence of you is that you have a beautiful soul - people sometimes need reminding of that.

Isn't it amazing how joy can be produced even during times of sadness. At 8 am this morning I became another Great Aunt. My nephew is the new proud daddy of a tiny baby girl. She was born 6 weeks early. She weighs 3 lbs and 2 oz, and she is around 16 or 17 inches long. (he couldn't remember exactly). They named her Taylor Ann. She is actually a miracle baby. They were having twins in the beginning, but they lost one of them and then they found holes in the placenta. The Mom has been in the hospital on bed rest for the past week, but the baby is fine. The lungs and heart are perfect and they think she can go home in a couple of days. So yep, happiness does happen during times of sadness.

wow cece,
it's all drama here!
for a baby to be so early and so small but strong and healthy is a wonderful thing. i'm sure the new mum & dad are relieved and blissed out.
it's interesting the way we both posted about our own essence but you described yours and i only referred to mine.
my thoughts and prayers are with your family while your dad is so sick. i hope, too , that his suffering will be minimised.

love

Hi baby. We've discussed all of this, but to write it matters to me. What a beautiful poem and what supportive and loving comments. Only you will read this, but that's okay because when you call, no matter the time, I always wake up. Last night was way to fun. I stayed up so far past my bedtime I could have collapsed in your lap like Forrest!!! Nite-nite Mommy!!!

Cece, I love you and I mean that. You always make me laugh and think and that's an amazing combination. Oh, and Rob just loves you. That's an honor!!! You're the real deal and I wouldn't trade you for a million dollars, but perhaps two!!!

Don't worry sweetie, Dad will find his way and he knows you love him, so just inhale, exhale. And your knew little niece has the most beautiful name. Welcome to the world Taylor Ann and have a beautiful life. And Congrats to the parents.

Love you dear friend,
Suze
