1-800-Red-Cross

I am writing this from work, so I do not have any pictures to show.
Last night terrible storms swept through Arkansas, Tennessee,Kentucky and I'm sure various other states. There were 16 confirmed tornadoes in Arkansas alone. The boys and I were at the Community Center when the storms struck our town. We had gone there to swim and get some exercise. We were told that we had to get out of the pool because it was lightening. I should have stayed at the Community Center until the storms past, but I had my boys with me and I wanted to get them home where my husband was waiting. It was raining so hard that I could barely see the road, and the wind almost blew me off the road. My husband was very concerned. When we reached our house, he was outside watching for us. He had started his car and was about to come look for us. We were lucky last night. We did not sustain any damage to our home or property, and we are all safe and sound today. Unfortunatly, there are people in other parts of this state and in other states that were not as fortunate as us. There have been 13 confirmed deaths in Arkansas, 32 confirmed deaths total in all of the states effected by the storms last night. I heard on the radio that the American Red Cross is in desparate need for blood. They are also in need of monetary donations, but at least giving blood is free. Maybe not painless, but free. If you are interested in giving blood, you can call 1-800-RED CROSS and find the location of the nearest donation site, and you may also make monetary donations at this number. But please, if nothing else, say a prayer for those in need today, or if your not the religious type, send wishes of well being to those in need. Positive energy is the key to goodness!

Thanks,
Cecile

I read about the storms, 46 reported dead so far I guess. You are lucky, you should settle down where you are during a bad storm instead of traveling in it.

I expect it to keep getting worse because of over population and over consumption of natural resources. In 20 years the storms will be very bad.

I gave blood for years, but they don't take it anymore.

Good that you are safe and sound.

I woke up, saw the news, fed the animals and came to check on you. Thank God you're okay. What a sad day for so many. Hugs to all of you. And next time sweetie, I think you should stay put. The idea of you being on the the road with the kids in that mess is absolutely frightening. Thank you for keeping us informed. I was so worried I'd get here and be talking into the air, and then have to wait and worry more. Not so. Thank you.

Have a good day. We'll talk soon. I'm so glad you're safe.

Much love,
Suzanne

I am so glad you and your family are safe. I will continue to pray for the many families that did not fare as well. It was a crazy night indeed all over the midwest. Thanks for letting us all know that everyone is ok. It had to be really scary to drive in that weather.

Stay safe,
((huggs))

Thanks everyone for your concern. Yes, my husband gave me an ear full when we made it home. The problem was that it had only started to sprinkle when we left the CC. But as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot it hit. I suppose I could have just pulled right back in, but I'm sort of stubborn sometimes, and I was determined to make it home.

Hi Sweetie, just checking back in to make sure you're real! Glad you are. I know we are all so glad you're safe. I've been through two horrific earth quakes and know how awful life can be and how it can change in an instant. I'm just so happy you, the boys, your hubby and dog are okay. It is such a relief. We called our friend in Tenn. this morning to check in as well. They did fine. Huge exhale.

I'm going to start a second email. I need phone numbers, etc. I worry you know. That's just me.

Love you dear.
XO Suzanne

Yeah, I've noticed that women get stubborn. :-)

But it also gets some of them killed. Try to be more careful in the future.

Be carful in the future. You're the only mother the boy have.

Also, the "boys." I'm typing over a kitty, so it's always a struggle.

Cecile!
First off...THANK GOD you and your family are all ok! Next stick with your gut...please!

And then thank you for your kind words on my blog!! I feel very ackward have typing those feelings on CSI's blog. It was in bad form and not really sure what brought up those feelings at that moment. See, too much time to think and no distractions since hubby will not be coming home for 2 weeks.

Thank you again, I mean that from the bottom of my heart!
Hugs,
Robyn
