Puppets

Puppets
By Cecile Balding
He gazes out over the earth
plagued by the wrath of darkness.
What was created from darkness
Shall parish from darkness.
He gazes out over the earth.
We are all puppets on strings.
Controlled by the Devil, these strings.
For his own pleasures he toys with the strings.
He gazes out over the earth
Puppets plagued by darkness
Controlled by the Devil's strings.
Shall perish from darkness, these puppets.

I am working on things less depressing. I promise, happy thoughts all next week!

Interesting poem. But your alter ego is what is toying with the strings and it will be with you for the rest of your life.

Ha, ha, when I proof read this I noticed that the first time I said springs instead of strings.

Damn, those strings are springy. LOL

Next week will be the same for me, happy and sad thoughts as I honor all that I am.

a dark piece indeed
i'm never quite sure who pulls the strings but (as suggested) i suspect that is always me though sometimes i do not wish to admit it

Sometimes you have to unload all of the bad before you can get to the good stuff. I kept thinking of Metallica's Master of Puppets when I read your post.

This poem fits my own mood right about now!! I really like it. And it's truly not an unhealthy thing to get in touch with darker parts of yourself. I'm a big believer in it.

I needed a few days to digest this. I'm not Floots. I can't say brilliantly in a few words what I can say in a hundred! I actually can relate because I've been there. I often think we're puppets in this very odd game of life. Is it just you and me? I don't know if I think it's the devil, but someone's up to mischief. Don't worry about being depressing. We all go there and we all make it out. Hopefully. I love you sweetie. You know that. I'm glad you're venting. It's cathartic. We aren't going anywhere, so we listen, enjoy, learn and continue to love you.

You are one hell of a lady.

XO
